Victor Phiri is a chaplain in the Zambia Army. In 2008, God graciously opened his heart to understand the gospel, and Victor believed in Jesus Christ alone for his salvation. God showed his faithfulness through the many opportunities for spiritual growth. While serving as a chaplain in the Zambia Army, Victor heard about CABU’s block courses designed to train chaplains for ministry. After attending one of the classes, he went away impressed with the quality of education. The teaching was practical. It helped him so much in his ministry as an Army chaplain that Victor decided to apply for leave from the Army to enroll at CABU full time. While at CABU, he not only completed his chaplaincy program but also took an emphasis in Missions.

When asked what God has done in his life at CABU, he replied, “God has challenged me that as a minister of the gospel, I can only be effective if I have a transformed heart. Because of this, I humble myself before God so that he can help me be a person who is renewed every day in mind and heart.”

Victor has now rejoined his brigade, is working on his Master’s Degree at CABU, and has a burden to plant a church in his home city of Ndola, Zambia.
