Institutional Objectives

CABU serves local churches through the discipling and equipping of pastors, missionaries, educators, and trainers for gospel advancement across Africa by providing:

  • A Word-centered curriculum that is academically rigorous, internationally recognized, and culturally relevant
  • Extensive ministry exposure and practical experience, and
  • An environment of life-on-life discipleship and intentional mentoring relationships of example and accountability

in order to produce graduates who are:

  • honest, reproducing disciple makers who live authentically before God and others
  • obedient followers of Christ who love others selflessly and sacrificially
  • wise leaders who think biblically and are able to apply Scripture to the challenges they will face, and
  • servant-leaders who humbly labor for the growth and advancement of the church in Africa.

Bible Program Objectives

In order to pursue the objectives of CABU within our Bible degree and diploma programs, the goal of our curriculum, learning environment, and educational experience is that students would become:

  • Trained for service in local churches, whether vocational or otherwise
  • Careful and accurate in handling Gods Word, both in proclamation and in application to their various ministry contexts
  • Grounded in sound doctrine and able to put that doctrine into practice
  • Effective communicators and clear thinkers, able to meet the challenges of the day
  • Passionate for local and world evangelism and able to help others to become so also
  • Committed to growth in ones personal spiritual walk and to growing and discipling others

Education Program Objectives

In order to pursue the objectives of CABU within our Education program, the goal of our curriculum, learning environment, and educational experience is that students would become:

  • Competent to teach all primary subjects from a Biblical worldview
  • Committed to incorporating Biblical truth in the primary classroom
  • Committed to evangelism and discipleship in the primary classroom
  • Professional in conduct
  • Confident in adaptation to student needs
  • Effective in implementation of current educational theory
  • Passionate about serving God and others
  • Committed to life-long learning and professional development

Seminary Program Objectives

In order to pursue the objectives of CABU within the M.A program, the goal of our curriculum, learning environment, and educational experience is that students would:

  • Demonstrate an ability to identify and relevantly apply Biblical Christian principles to specific situations facing the Church in Africa. 
  • With evident demonstrable research skills, be able to competently investigate and solve problems with original or creative solutions 
  • Show high awareness of and appropriately engage with the prevailing cultural and theological issues in a given context.  
  • Competently lead initiatives related to Local Church and world evangelism.
