Chaplaincy ministry is a ministry that was born with a goal to reach out to men and women in uniform (Zambia Army, Zambia Police, Zambia National Service and Zambia Prison Service).

Chaplains

The ministry has two goals:

To train these men and women so that they can better serve their colleagues.

Second, the ministry also reaches out directly to the officers in these respective wings with the gospel.

The past twelve months have been an exciting time of ministry. The year opened with one major achievement. The Zambia Police mobile unit in Kitwe accepted to partner with Central Africa Baptist College chaplaincy department in taking the gospel to their mobile stations across the country.

This began with support from their Divisional Commander himself. We were able to take the gospel to 4 different stations (Chingola, Mufulira, Kasumbalesa – border with DRC, and Kalulushi). We had one profession of faith at Kasumbalesa border.

This person has not been followed up because of the challenge we have encountered. Riots that continued at the border have made it difficult for the Police Commander to allow us to go back.

We also in the last year had three training block classes for the chaplains. These took place in February, July and December of 2013. This training is part of the ongoing Chaplaincy Certification Program.

All we can say is “to God be the glory”,

Francis Kaunda
