My name is Peter Shilaluka a graduate student at Central Africa Baptist College. I am 47 years old and this year in June I clocked 11 years in pastoral ministry.
Having realized my limitations in the area of feeding the flock that God has placed under my care I started looking for a Bible college within our country that would give me a quality theology that I needed. During this time I had a privilege of offering counseling sessions to people living with HIV/AIDS at Dawn Trust Community Center. It was during that time that the coordinator Ms. Hedwig Muller, a former member of Ndola Baptist Church sponsored me to attend CABU July 2011 Pastor’s Block Class under the theme “Pastoral Counseling.”
When attending the block class I was impressed with the President’s remarks on the vision, values, and mission statement of CABU. From that time I sensed that the Lord was leading me to study at CABU but I needed someone I trust who would tell me more about the college’s doctrine. The Lord again used Ms. Hedwig Muller to invite Pastor Sandala Mwanje who was then a CABU student to come at our institution to speak at the Youth Conference and his preaching was Christ centered and it answered all the questions I had concerning the school.
From the time I started college to date CABU has proved to be a hardworking college whose every action is purposeful. The college’s prominence in sound doctrine, character formation, and discipline is well known to many denominations and people in our country.
The uniqueness about CABU to other colleges is that it trains Servant-Leaders/Pastors not bosses. The college has really shaped my theology as well as my spiritual life. I have learned how to interpret Bible passages in their context without violating the other scriptures. It is due to this remarkable approach to Scriptures that has made people from all walks of life to start coming to CABU to study.
I would recommend anyone who has been called by God to come and study at CABU without any reservation.
