Discover Discipleship.001Discover Discipleship: A Model For Making Disciples In The Local Church

If you had only three years left on this earth and had all the money you needed to do whatever you wanted, how would you invest your time and money to build God’s kingdom? Would you travel the globe preaching the Gospel to as many people as possible? Would you create a new form of social media to get the message out to the masses?  Would you organize a major revival meeting in the largest city in your country to attract as many people as possible to hear the Gospel preached by gifted communicators (like you)?

While all of those ideas have merit, shouldn’t we begin by asking ourselves the question: What did Jesus do?  A simple read of the Gospels reveal that he did not spend the majority of his time traveling the globe, grabbing the attention of large crowds, or preaching to the masses.  No.  He invested in the lives of twelve men…three of them in particular.  His investment was done in a relatively small area with limited visibility but unbelievable effectiveness.  You see, for Jesus, less is more.

You are invited to participate in this week-long pastor’s block class at Central Africa Baptist College where we will discuss how to be a disciple, make disciples, and train disciples.  The sessions will include practical suggestions on how you can become a more committed disciple of Christ, develop a culture of discipleship in your church, and train the next generation of servant-leaders to partner with you in Great Commission living.
